Hypnotherapy
Have you ever tried to make a change and found that you couldn’t because something prevented you from even trying?
Have you ever wanted to learn a new skill but were prevented from following up the desire because you “believe” that you can’t do that sort of thing... /span>
Have you ever nearly achieved something and fell at the last hurdle for no apparent reason?
Are there certain situations that you find yourself in when you fall apart and you can’t cope, even though in many other areas you are perfectly confident and self-assured?
If you have answered yes to any of those questions there is every chance that the thing that stopped you was some subconscious conditioning, brought about in childhood and reinforced throughout your life.
You see the subconscious mind doesn’t do logic. It just reacts.
Certain things trigger certain reactions, a bit like a button switches on lights.
One button switches on a red light, one a white light etc. It depends how the lights are wired.
So our reactions to certain events are determined by how we are “wired”. or the in the words of Stuart Wilde, the consciousness we held at the time that similar things happened in the past or, how we remember those things.
Hypnotherapy, can help you "re-wire" your thinking and have more control over the way you react in any situation so why not.
Will I lose control?
Absolutely not!!
Milton Erikson once said that "If we could control people through hypnosis then a lot fewer sick and neurotic people would exist. You can't make them do things against their will - not even get better!"
As a hypnotherapist I cannot make you do anything that violates your morals or values. However, I can empower you to be more in control of your life.
In hypnosis you can always resist. You can resist as muach as you can in the waking state. All hypnosis is in effect self-hypnosis.
What about stage hypnosis?
Stage hypnosis is just that "staged". It is for entertainment purposes and the participants specially selected for thier willingness to take part in the proceedings. Basically they are "up for a laugh" and will be more than happy to do as the hypnotherapist suggests. If they were not then they would not have voluntered in the first place.
Stage hypnosis bears no resemblance to the theraputic use for hypnosis.
